Social Entrepreneurship Incubation
The idea behind Youth Initiative/Social Entrepreneurship Incubation is to support those youth initiatives which are aimed at benefiting society, to successfully convert an idea into reality. Inspired by the concept of start-up incubation, we wish to nurture, mentor, guide and support young social entrepreneurs, whether they wish to start an initiative, or whether they wish to more efficiently implement their initiative! In order to do this, we will have a panel of ‘mentors’ who have experience in successfully leading youth teams and implementing socially beneficial campaigns.
What are the benefits of initiatives’ associating with Youth Connect?
1.Guidance from experienced youth leaders and campaigners, who have successfully spearheaded and implemented youth teams and social campaigns. A mentor would be assigned to each initiative and organisation, and can be consulted for ways on how to implement an initiative, or to expand, develop or strengthen an existing project.
- As individuals who’ve traversed a similar path previously, the mentors would be able to guide and advice the mentee initiative on what in their experience works and doesn’t work, which are effective strategies of outreach, marketing et cetera.
- Access to the network of Youth Connect Members. This would grant the initiative access to our mailing list to promote your events and activities/calls for recruitment of volunteers.
- Recognition of your initiative in our magazine and/or newsletter. This would be an opportunity for you to amplify your work at the international level, while also creating a call to action to enable more dedicated and like-minded volunteers to join you.
- Promotion of your initiative’s events and activities on our social media.
- Occasional support for funding on a case-by-case basis to support initiatives.
- Consideration for our annual ‘Youth Changemaker’ awards and the opportunity to be a part of a biannual/annual youth conference.
What we need from the initiatives?
- Recognition as an affiliate partner. For instance, if you’re starting a podcast, ‘Going Green’, we would require you to feature our logo on your posters in a corner, and/or to mention in the podcast, ‘Going green with John, supported by Youth Connect’.
- As an international foundation, this provides legitimacy and a sense of reliability to those interested in joining your initiative.
- To provide your mentor with a place in your initiative – as advisor/cofounder/core team member/etc.
- This would allow the mentor to be personally invested in your project and not only give you advice on how to implement it better, but also act on it and lead by example.
- Crosspromoting – Whenever Youth Connect shares posts about our affiliation with your initiative and shares about the work that you are doing, we would require your initiative to also feature not only those posts but also for your initiative to post about your affiliation with us, and an introduction to Youth Connect and it’s work.
Writing and Content Creation
Writers of all kinds often face common challenges; from finding the time to write and tackling creative blockages to preparing manuscripts for publication.
Our expert mentors are uniquely placed to help, from the fine detail of your work to the bigger picture of your life as a writer. Working one-to-one, each session is focussed on how best to help you, wherever you are in your writing journey.
Marketing and Social Media
Our core idea is to involve members of the community to bring about awareness and change. Our ideas are disseminated through social media, via various volunteers from across the country.
We believe that even a small step can lead to big results, as a collaborative effort. If you are a goal-oriented person, who wants to make a real impact on society, and learn along the way, this opportunity is for you.
