We all have different body shapes. If you are skinny and want to gain some kilos, we have some tips for you!

Weight gain for kids at an early age is not an ideal scenario. Many would want to remain lean. However, the ones who feel they are a bit thin would want to gain a few kilos. It's a tough thing, but we might be able to help you.

In this article...

  • Why some kids are skinny and some are fat
  • Handling teases
  • How to gain weight the right way

One of the major reasons for people wanting to gain weight could be that they get teased about being skinny. If you are on the leaner side, you need to understand that everyone has a different body mechanism. Some might weigh more than you, but it doesn’t mean that something is wrong with you.

Here are some reasons why different kids have different weights.

  • If your friend who weighs more is shorter than you, it means you have less mass vertically.
  • You must be having a small body frame that you can identify by looking at the wrists. It also means that your muscles and skeleton are likely thinner.
  • At the puberty stage, kids can gain weight and have rapid growth. If your friend has already attained it and you haven’t still, it’s quite natural for you to look thinner.
  • It is also a case of genetics as parents pass on their genes to their children. Your body frame and height will likely be the same as theirs.

Handling teases

Getting teased by your friends can surely be a motivation to gain some weight. However, you must talk to your parents before going ahead with your plans. It can be natural for you to retaliate, but it is important to not insult others. Maybe you can make them aware of how everyone is unique. It can help you change their perspective.

How to go about gaining weight

This advice is for every kid who wants to grow and develop naturally and without stressing too much. You can start by eating a combination of healthy food items, play regularly outdoors, and never compromise on your sleep time. There is no quick shortcut to beef up your weight, so you must certainly avoid eating junk food. It will only make you fall sick, which could lead to further complications instead of weight gain.

It is best to talk to your parents, who can help you overcome your battles. They can take you to a dietician who can recommend the best way forward by analysing your current health and your history.

The best way to become healthy and gain weight is to treat your body in the right manner instead of hurting it.
