Organising your life is not as difficult as it sounds, and we tell you how.
If you are struggling to find find the right dress at the right time or cannot remember that one task that you had today, then that’s a sign for you to unclutter your life.
Nobody is born with the talent of organising things. This is a skill that human beings learn during the course of their lives. It is important to keep your life organised so that it does not spiral out of control. Having your day and things organised also helps you complete your day-to-day tasks with minimum efforts and almost zero screw-ups.
Even if you think you are disorganised, don’t worry. Nobody is born with this talent; we all learn this skill — knowingly or unknowingly.
Be the person who has a list for everything. No, you do not have to go overboard and write “make a list” in your to-do list.
Making lists ensures that you do not forget something later. It is a human tendency to forget some tasks out of the multiple things we think on a daily basis. So, have an app on your phone or keep a diary with you in which you can jot down your thoughts as and when they enter your brain. The task can be as small as ‘keep a pen’ or as big as your exam dates and meetings.
While you do not necessarily have to make a detailed timetable of your day, it is important to roughly sketch your day’s events. This will help you plan your day without missing out any important meeting or task, and will also help you avoid chaos and meet your deadlines.
This is a very important point. The first thing to do to get your life organised is to assign a set place for all things — be it your stationery, socks, hair clips or your hair bands. When you assign places to all things, make sure they are arranged in the order of how much do you need to access them on a daily basis. Once you set the places and keep things on their assigned place only, you will save time in finding things, especially when you are in hurry. This can seem like a tough task at first but we promise it will get better with time.
Now, this is not a task that can be done on a daily basis. However, probably every fortnight or on monthly basis, try and declutter your room. Take a day to go through your possessions and see what are the extra things in your life that you can do without — be it in your room or your electronics. This will help you get rid of the extra things and will also give you extra space to organise your possessions in a better way.
