Khichdi
Amidst the unprecedented second wave of COVID-19 in India, that has touched almost every family in the nation, a few friends have started their initiative – Khichdi.org, in collaboration with Youth Connect Foundation, a free food delivery service for those recovering as well as COVID-positive.
Not only is the service helping people who cannot cook for themselves in their current physical condition, but is also providing employment to a small dhaba/kitchen which had closed down after the lockdown guidelines came into place, and went out of business.
While essential services’ shops are allowed to remain open, these small roadside eateries are closed down and many have lost their daily earning. Khichdi.org has also hired two food delivery bike riders who deliver food in the morning between 10AM to 12AM, and in the evening between 6PM and 8PM.
Khichdi.org relies on social media reach, and is currently operating in Noida, in particular Sectors 61, 62, 75, 76, 78, 119, 120, 121, 122. The request for food is taken in through their WhatsApp number or their website, and patients are verified online.
Youth Connect partakes in social outreach and impact, and has partnered up with this initiative to help those in need. We encourage our readers to contribute in any minor way possible.
